Problems in childbearing age: Pcos (polycystic ovary syndrome) and vaginal infections, both the title and the topic of the congress valid as a CME Course (continuous medical education) organised by S&R farmaceutici for surgeons,, General Practitioners, gynaecologists and obstetricians, which will take place Saturday 25th March at 9:30 at the Minerva Auditorium, via dei Pioppi 2, Bastia Umbra. Ettore Palma, human microbiota expert and researcher is the scientific head.

Women’s health in its multitude of nuances will be at the heart of the event which will consist of two sessions, a morning one dedicated to “Pcos and its multiple manifestations’ and the afternoon one, which will start at 14:30, dedicated to ‘vaginal infections in gynaecology and obstetrics’. In the first session, Dr. Giovanni Perrone will discuss ‘Insulin resistance and polycystic ovary syndrome’, whereas Dr. Angela Lauletta will report on ‘Pcos: short and long term complications and treatment options’. The second session will be opened by Palma who will discuss “the role of microbiota in our health: are microbes our allies?’, followed by Nadia Recine with “Management of bacterial vaginosis and candida’ and Dr. Angela Lauletta on ‘The risk of vaginal infections during the first semester of pregnancy’. An open discussion will take place before the event draws to a close at 18.30.

“Vaginal infections and polycystic ovary syndrome– the organisers explain– are some of the most frequent problems encountered by women in childbearing age and consequently gynaecologists are required to tackle cases in clinical practice. The congress aims to provide an opportunity for modern scientific training and direct debate with qualified Italian gynaecology professionals, an important occasion for participants to meet and exchange experiences.
