S&R FARMACEUTICI AT SIGO IN ROME BY THE SIDE OF DOCTORS FOR WOMEN

Just like in previous years, the 93rd National Congress of the Society of Italian Gynecology and Obstetrics (Sigo) in Rome turned out to be full of ideas and reflections and was also the 58th National Aogoi Congress (Association of Italian hospital obstetricians and gynaecologists) and the 25th National Agui Congress (Association of Italian University Gynaecologists). S&R Farmaceutici, present with its own stand and staff at the Ergife Palace Hotel, welcomed numerous doctors at the service of women and researcher eager to discover nutraceutical products in the Bastia Umbra-based company’s offering. Among them Simone Palini, a senior clinical embryologist, specialised in molecular genetics and member of the board of directors of the Italian Society of human reproduction (Siru). After participating in the session on Reproductive Medicine with a report on ‘The mitochondrion: key role for reproductive success’, he declared the importance of resveratrol in such contexts.

“The National Institute of health has highlighted how there has been a rise in the age of patients turning to medically assisted fertilisation centres. The use of nutraceutical supplements is fundamental in order to improve their chances of pregnancy. In particular, there are new nutraceutical products that contain resveratrol with better absorption and which have been proven to be highly effective in the formation of oocytes and the cell system in general. To the extent that in the latest in vitro studies we conducted on immortalised ovary cells, we achieved excellent results, indicating that the use of such high bioavailability resveratrols is the right direction. We observed a 50% increase in mitochondrial activity and this is a symptom of the optimisation of cell energy, fundamental in the early stages of meiotic division to avoid the formation of constitutional chromosomal abnormalities which then lead to the failure of the entire organism”.
